Style in a loose triangle with the tallest stems, then the focal blooms (Chrysanthemums and Peony) in the centre, the Roses and trailing Catkins to be placed low and to the sides. Turn the vase as you go and avoid symmetry, a few stems crossing at odd angles is what makes it look gathered rather than arranged.
